Course description

ICB Credit: 2.5 CRCM

If you can't believe it's 2016 already, then you know 2015 whizzed by. The question is, did it go by so fast that you missed that snippet about a change in the regulation, emphasis on an old topic because of recent enforcement actions, or the complete revision of a regulation? The worst part is, examiners don't care how much you went through on TRID, they're concerned with the here and now and that includes ALL those snippets from 2015.

There were proposals, final rules, revised rules and clarifications. It was an overwhelming year to be sure. There was a lot to get even as you were implementing the major TRID change. Whether it is because you were so busy or that you were not working in compliance all year, you are responsible for knowing what happened, and how it impacted your bank, and you have to know that necessary policies, procedures and change management steps have been implemented. If you are not 100% positive that everything that happened in 2015 was reviewed and considered, or if you just want to get confirmation you've got it all covered, this webinar is for you.

This is a recap. It is not an in-depth review. This is a time to quickly identify changes and classify compliance events as "did that," "gotta do that," or "good to know, but no impact on us." We will discuss these events, be they proposals, regulations, opinions, guidance, enforcement actions or "other events," briefly. But most importantly, we will provide a manual with descriptions of what happened and links to all the resources you need to follow-up on the changes whether we have time to discuss them all or not. You'll walk away with an inventory and resource list to ensure you didn't miss anything requiring your attention. We will discuss in this two hours:

  • Recent enforcement orders
  • Lingering issues from the TRID rules
  • Changes to exemptions
  • The short-term extension of the balloon loan QM
  • Debt collection practices developments
  • Why getting strict about determining business purpose matters more than ever
  • How to plan for the new final HMDA rules
  • How to handle loans to trusts correctly
  • What's happened with lending to the military
  • How you will be impacted by the revised DoD rules
  • Flood insurance changes
  • FCRA issues at the forefront
  • Fallout from the January 2014 lending changes
  • What's new in fair lending
  • What we can learn from what the regulators are saying
  • RESPA matters (particularly Section 8)
  • Appraisal issues
  • What to watch out for in the indirect lending arena
  • What's pending
  • What's on the horizon
